Day 30 – “Hey Hey” by The Graves

August 8, 2011 1 comment

And if you sing along with us, better give it all you’ve got!

And with this video, we come to the end of our 30 day journey. I hope you had as much fun watching these videos as we did making them. The amount of support and talent that has come out of this project is overwhelming.

At first we had some difficulty deciding what to do for this band that’s based way out West. Eventually I came up with this. This song is quite an anthem and I figured it would be a nice way to bring all of our artists together. Please enjoy “Hey Hey” by The Graves.

Once again, I’d like to thank all the artists and filmmakers who participated in this project.

Video #28 (Version 2.0) – “War” by Miles Megaciph (Alt. Version)

Throw up your twos! “Hands in the air…”

Remember when I said “War” was worth listening to twice? Well apparently I wasn’t the only one who felt that way. Here at Project 30 in 30, we’re all about people getting creative, experimenting and trying new things. So when the DP mentioned he wanted to take a turn at editing, who was I to deny that? What we have here is a gritty, ensemble featuring, alternative version to this video edited by David Dubuc.

So here it is, check out “War” by Miles Megaciph (Alt. Version).

Sweet.

Video #28 – “War” by Miles Megaciph

A song even Dad could get behind

I’m so proud to finally announce the video for Miles Megaciph’s “War.” This one has been a long time coming. Some of you might remember the shoot way back in December. It was one of our most challenging and certainly featured our biggest cast. Miles Megaciph is definitely one to look out for. With his hard-hitting lyrics and imposing presence, it’s tough to not want to join the movement.

I actually encourage you to watch this one twice. First time around you can really appreciate the vintage rap style exemplified by cinematographer David Dubuc’s camera work and editor Orlando Suazo’s raw cutting. Not to mention the rough (and all too appropriate) art direction by newcomer Anteequa Washington. Through it all, take in Director, Rocka Bennett’s storytelling – this is a mini film after all. On second viewing, strip away the genre, the choreography/coordination, the art direction, the projections, the incredibly catchy rhythm – and listen to the words. “War” is relatable with universally understood messages and emotions. I’ll let the track speak for itself on this.

Featuring a cast of many, Jaelen M. Ferrebee, Zakiryah Griffins, Avon JanusKiewicz, JJ Jones, Clinton Lowe, Charles Vorkas, Anteequa Washington, Lloyd Williams and more. Much thanks to our additional crew: Jorge Garza, Albert Gea, and JJ Jones.
