Day 30 – “Hey Hey” by The Graves

August 8, 2011 1 comment

And if you sing along with us, better give it all you’ve got!

And with this video, we come to the end of our 30 day journey. I hope you had as much fun watching these videos as we did making them. The amount of support and talent that has come out of this project is overwhelming.

At first we had some difficulty deciding what to do for this band that’s based way out West. Eventually I came up with this. This song is quite an anthem and I figured it would be a nice way to bring all of our artists together. Please enjoy “Hey Hey” by The Graves.

Once again, I’d like to thank all the artists and filmmakers who participated in this project.

Video #29 – “All I Need” by Auzriel

July 9, 2011 2 comments

You’re all I need…

FINALLY we have our last video (I know it’s “#29” but more on that later). This has certainly been our longest video in the making and one of our most ambitious videos graphics-wise.  Some of you may remember that we shot this WAY back in October. Again, this was one of our more involved shoots (over at Creek and Cave in LIC).

I’m proud to present this very sensual, beautifully layered video for Auzriel’s techno remix of “All I Need”.  With intricate graphic effects by our cinematographer John McMinn and impossibly flexible dancing by Jennifer Morel not to mention the lovely Auzriel doing what she does best, this is definitely a hot one.

Additional grip and electric: Jorge A Garza, Tito Delgado, and Spencer Shangkuan.  Makeup by Tanya Milord.  Special thanks to Linny Hall.

As for #30?  Well you’ll just have to wait and see.  We’ve got something very special coming up tomorrow so check back and as always, if you’d like to stay in the loop, join our mailing list.

Stay cool folks!

Oh what a night!

What a fantastic night Tuesday! So many thanks to all of you who made it out to show your support. We seriously could not do this without each and every one of you. From day one, the goal has been to find artists who would never otherwise share a stage or a label or a fanbase and bring them all together in one space. To give our filmmakers and musicians the freedom to take risks and visualize music as they feel it. To let people discover music and their own personal connections to these songs.

Katra Lounge was PULSING with talent Tuesday night! To see some artists finally meet their editors and animators for the first time, to hear that some artists have videos lined up with their Project 30 in 30 directors in the future, to have this all come together under one roof is exactly why we began the project in the first place. I could not be more pleased and excited for what’s to come!

Stay tuned for the upcoming web premiere of videos for Miles Megaciph, Auzriel and The Graves.

In the mean time, enjoy the photos from this amazing night:

Video #11 – “I’ve Decided” by the Graves

And here’s the next Graves video by Jorge A. Garza for their song, “I’ve Decided”. Again playing to the challenge of working with a band out of state (and on the other coast for that matter), Jorge went the route of paint-animation. Enjoy!
