Day 30 – “Hey Hey” by The Graves

August 8, 2011 1 comment

And if you sing along with us, better give it all you’ve got!

And with this video, we come to the end of our 30 day journey. I hope you had as much fun watching these videos as we did making them. The amount of support and talent that has come out of this project is overwhelming.

At first we had some difficulty deciding what to do for this band that’s based way out West. Eventually I came up with this. This song is quite an anthem and I figured it would be a nice way to bring all of our artists together. Please enjoy “Hey Hey” by The Graves.

Once again, I’d like to thank all the artists and filmmakers who participated in this project.

Video #29 – “All I Need” by Auzriel

You’re all I need…

FINALLY we have our last video (I know it’s “#29” but more on that later). This has certainly been our longest video in the making and one of our most ambitious videos graphics-wise.  Some of you may remember that we shot this WAY back in October. Again, this was one of our more involved shoots (over at Creek and Cave in LIC).

I’m proud to present this very sensual, beautifully layered video for Auzriel’s techno remix of “All I Need”.  With intricate graphic effects by our cinematographer John McMinn and impossibly flexible dancing by Jennifer Morel not to mention the lovely Auzriel doing what she does best, this is definitely a hot one.

Additional grip and electric: Jorge A Garza, Tito Delgado, and Spencer Shangkuan.  Makeup by Tanya Milord.  Special thanks to Linny Hall.

As for #30?  Well you’ll just have to wait and see.  We’ve got something very special coming up tomorrow so check back and as always, if you’d like to stay in the loop, join our mailing list.

Stay cool folks!

Video #17 – “Cold Eyes” by Genesis Be

If you didn’t make it out to the show last night, no worries, there’s plenty more to come from the talented Genesis Be.

2010 has been a crazy year for this Reynolds Scholarship for Social Entrepreneurship and NIA award winning artist from NYU’s Clive Davis School of Recorded Music. 2011 is sure to bring even more great music and collaboration from Genesis and the rest of the Open Sky Artworks crew. Stay tuned!

Here’s a video for “Cold Eyes” a hip hop song with some heavy personal history and biting rhymes. With the detail oriented camera work of John McMinn and edited by Kevin Chew, we wanted to highlight the song’s (and Genesis’s) journey. Check it.

Special thanks to Auzriel and Andrea Dao Wong.

Oooh Technology…

Hey Folks,

Due to some unforeseen issues with computers dying, hard drives being trapped in other states, and a slew of other miscellaneous roadblocks, Project 30 in 30 is a little behind. But don’t you worry, we are still cracking and the videos will be completed. In the meantime, hang tight and check out the videos we do have up for Jonny B. Goodman, Afterquake, Cut Your Teeth, What Katie Said Last Night, Chi’ Akai, and The Graves.

Shout-outs to my girls Genesis Be and Auzriel who had great shoots this weekend! Very intense and sensual shoot at Creek and Cave in LIC with Auzriel. Today shot a gritty and emotional video up in Harlem with Genesis Be, featuring a guest appearance by Miles Megaciph. All shot by DP, John McMinn. Thanks to our awesome crew: Jorge Garza, Spencer Shangkuan, and Tito Delgado.

Pictures coming soon!
